Description :

Sales representatives, wholesale trade (non-technical), sell non-technical goods and services to retail, wholesale, commercial, industrial, professional and other clients domestically and internationally. They are employed by establishments that produce or provide goods and services such as petroleum companies, food, beverage and tobacco producers, clothing manufacturers, motor vehicles and parts manufacturers, hotels, business services firms, and transportation companies. Auctioneers are included in this unit group. Sales representatives, wholesale trade who are supervisors are also included in this unit group.

Main duties :

  •   promote sales to existing clients
  •   identify and solicit potential clients
  •   provide clients with presentations on the benefits and uses of goods or services
  •   estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates
  •   prepare or oversee preparation of sales or other contracts
  •   consult with clients after sale or signed contracts to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
  •   review and adapt to information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditions
  •   represent companies that export and import products or services to and from foreign countries
  •   may conduct sales transactions through Internet-based electronic commerce
  •   may supervise the activities of other sales representatives.

Professional Sales

Program length: 1 year

Program Objectives

The aim of the program is to train someone in the sales of products or services, to offer solutions that correspond to their customers’ needs, to provide advice, establish a climate of trust and build customer loyalty by offering personalized service that meets customer expectations. In addition to consulting and sales-related tasks, sales consultants may also manage and display in-store merchandise and provide after-sales service.

Admission requirements for an AVS

To enroll in an AVS program, a DVS or equivalent experience in a related field is required. The AVS is issued upon the successful completion of a program that upgrades skills or provides specialization in a particular trade or occupation.

Program Objectives

This program aims to simultaneously teach versatility and the mastering of a technical function. It allows for the student to actively participate in the development of the tourist industry while teaching them to adapt to different cultures, to evaluate a tourist location, in the development of tourist products and services as well as the promotion of these products and services. In choosing one of the three specializations, the students will acquire the necessary qualifications that will enable them to intervene accordingly whether it be in Hospitality and Tour-Guiding, Tourist Product Development, or in the Development and Promotion of Travel Products. (1 860 hours/section)
