This unit group includes mechanics and technicians who install, adjust, repair and overhaul aircraft instrument, electrical or avionics systems on aircraft. This unit group also includes avionics inspectors who inspect instrument, electrical and avionics systems following assembly, modification, repair or overhaul. They are employed by aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul establishments and by airlines and other aircraft operators.
Main duties :
Aircraft instrument mechanics and technicians
- repair and overhaul, install, calibrate and test aircraft instruments.
Aircraft electrical mechanics and technicians
- repair and overhaul, modify, install and test aircraft electrical systems and equipment.
Avionics mechanics and technicians
- troubleshoot, repair and overhaul, test, modify, install and inspect aircraft electronic systems and components including communications, navigation, and autoflight equipment.
Avionics inspectors
- inspect and test aircraft instrument, electrical and avionics systems;
- ensure that the installation, maintenance, repair and overhaul of these systems meet Transport Canada and company standards of performance and safety.
- aircraft mechanics and technicians who work in repair and overhaul shops service and test electrical, electronic and instrument components. Avionics mechanics and technicians who work in maintenance hangars troubleshoot, repair, install and inspect aircraft systems and components.

Le programme Techniques d'avionique vise à former des techniciennes et des techniciens qui seront en mesure de diagnostiquer les problèmes de fonctionnement, d'assembler et d'installer des systèmes avioniques, de les inspecter, de les réparer et de les modifier. Elles et ils pourront aussi participer à la conception de systèmes, au soutien technique et aux activités relatives à l'inspection et à l'entretien planifiés en prévision d'un vol.
Les interventions des techniciennes et des techniciens en avionique portent entre autres sur des systèmes de communication, de radionavigation, de navigation par impulsion, de génération et de distribution électrique et sur des systèmes asservis. Ces personnes seront aptes à intervenir sur les systèmes avioniques, tant en atelier que sur aéronefs.

Program Objectives
The Aircraft Maintenance program aims to train technicians to work in an aircraft organization, repair centres, and manufacturing centres. These technicians will be able to provide maintainance on motors, aircraft, propellers and helicopters. They will also assure the maintenance of aircraft, flight controls and instrumentation systems. Aircraft maintenance technicians will also perform unplanned inspection in addition to performing the activities related to the design and manufacturing of aircraft components.

Program Objectives
The Electrotechnology program aims to train students to be able to perform the activities related to production and set-up of materials and electrical and electronic equipment. The candidates will be employed in public service industries, computer service industries, in telecommunications, factories that produce electric and electronic materials, technical council boards, public and para-public organizations, editing companies and in transport as well as in radiotelecommunications and entertainment. They may also be called to manage projects and personnel, to do customer support, to manage stock and perform administrative duties.
Specialization A - Telecommunications
The main activities and tasks associated with telecommunications technologists are: installations and set up of service, maintenance, repair and modifications or updates of telecummunications systems.
Specialization B - Computers and network
The main activities and tasks associated with computers and network technologists are (electronic section): installation, maintenance, repair and modification fo electronic and computer equipment; (computer section): installation of material and software, maintenance, repair and customer service; (network section): installation, maintenance and functionality of a network and the necessary equipment.
Specialization C - Audiovisual
The main activities and tasks associated with audiovisual technologists are: installation and service set-up, maintenance, repair and modification or updating professional production and post-production systems and high quality diffusion. Radiotelecommunication technicians install, put together and repair electonic equipment that serves to record and broadcast live, as well as recorded, radio and televisions shows, as well as producing audio and visual trailers that are broadcast on the Internet. They work in radio and television broadcasting companies, broadcast equipment companies, and for Internet service communication providers.
