Description :

Web designers and developers research, design, develop and produce Internet and Intranet sites. They are employed in computer software development firms, information technology consulting firms, information technology units throughout the private and public sectors, advertising agencies or they may be self-employed.

Main duties :

  • Consult with clients to develop and document Web site requirements
  • Prepare mock-ups and storyboards
  • Develop Web site architecture and determine hardware and software requirements
  • Source, select and organize information for inclusion and design the appearance, layout and flow of the Web site
  • Create and optimize content for the Web site using a variety of graphics, database, animation and other software
  • Plan, design, write, modify, integrate and test Web-site related code
  • Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls
  • May lead and co-ordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop Web site graphics, content, capacity and interactivity
  • May research and evaluate a variety of interactive media software products.

Program Objectives

Le programme vise à former des personnes aptes à exercer la profession de technicienne/technicien en intégration multimédia. L'intégratrice multimédia ou l'intégrateur multimédia intervient tout au long du processus de production des applications multimédias. Son travail consiste principalement à assembler et à intégrer les éléments de contenus (textes, images, animations, vidéo, son) d'applications multimédias en ligne ou sur support et à procéder au codage de l'interactivité.

En plus d'assurer l'acquisition de connaissances particulières à la production de divers types d'applications multimédias en ligne et sur support, ce programme assure le développement d'une culture générale et d'une formation de base relative au design graphique, à la recherche et à l'information, aux techniques de programmation, à la vidéo, à la production sonore, aux animations 2D et 3D ainsi qu'aux méthodes d'analyse et de contrôle de la qualité
